Scholarship Opportunity to Attend the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) National Meeting

The 2019 Young Scholars in General Internal Medicine (YSGIM) Scholarship application is OPEN. This program provides scholarships to residents and students that support the registration fee to the 2019 SGIM Annual Meeting from May 8-11 in Washington, DC. You don’t need to be presenting at the meeting to apply. The deadline to apply is March 12, 2019 at 12pm eastern. The goal was to review important resources to learn more about high-value healthcare including: Choosing Wisely – An incredible resource for high-value healthcare published by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Search by specialty, inpatient/outpatient, or keyword. The California “Hospital Chargemaster” – where you can view pricing data submitted by California hospitals Healthcare Blue Book  – Search for the “fair price” of medications, labs, tests or procedures by your Zip Code — a potentially helpful resource for you, your family, and your patients GoodRx.com – Search for the lowest price for medications (without insurance coverage) by Zip Code and store. Also has many coupons to further decrease the price — very useful for patients without insurance!
