Resident Kudos!

Congratulations to our excellent intern, Dr. Praneet Mylavarapu, for being elected by our medical students to receive this year’s UC San Diego SOM Humanism in Medicine Resident Award in Internal Medicine. He will be invited to join UC San Diego School of Medicine’s Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) and be honored during their award ceremony! Great work, Praneet!

Resident Spotlight: Tosha Songolo!

Hometown: Madison, WI About me: I went to undergrad at UW-Madison, med school at University of Illinois-Chicago. I love languages (I speak French fluently, Spanish pretty well and some Swahili), cooking (all types of cuisine), running, African dance and I’m obsessed with Costco. As a child, I had a a strange obsession with Hulk Hogan (we all went through that phase, right?) Why I chose UCSD: I had a really good feeling after my interview here and fell in love with San Diego. I was born in Irvine and then my family moved to Wisconsin, but we always wanted to come back to Cali, so here I am! I also am interested in global health and wanted to continue to pursue my interests at an institution with global health/policy opportunities for residents. Favorite place: Balboa Park.
